Foreign Language Education

At our school, we implement the TBES (Theme-Based Education System) starting from preschool. This spiral-structured program is carefully designed according to the developmental stages of each age group, enabling students to reinforce and deepen their learning.

Our aim with TBES in preschool and elementary levels is not only to accelerate foreign language acquisition but also to ensure lasting learning across all subjects.

Within each grade level, activities are planned and carried out based on topics approved by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). These activities are determined through collaborative meetings involving our English teachers and other subject teachers. Depending on the lesson, activities may either complement the classroom teacher’s lessons with varied exercises or take the form of interdisciplinary projects. This system’s goal is to spark curiosity and encourage students to develop original ideas related to the subject matter. Additionally, it enhances students’ English proficiency and promotes permanent learning.

Starting from the 4th grade, we use a grouping system in our English classes, allowing students to learn with materials tailored to their proficiency levels. This approach boosts their confidence in using the language and accelerates language acquisition. Moreover, from 4th grade onwards, students begin learning a second foreign language of their choice.
